This weeks must have item is the Gomboc. To see what it does all you need to do is watch the first twenty seconds of the above video.
All it really does is right is self right itself to the same exact point from no matter where you let it go from. It's called a mono monostatic item and required a large amount of mathematics to figure out. If any of the sides are out of proportion by a hundreth of a millimetre the Gomboc won't right it self to the same position everytime.
To put it bluntly, I want one. Even though it may be quite simple in it's appearance I'm pretty sure it would ammuse me for ages.
